Interdependence

In room one we are learning about Interdependence
and made a google Drawing  about it here's mine...

I found it easy to find the information about interdependence.
I found It hard to publish to the web and finish on time.
my digital learning shows what Interdependence actually is.
(sorry for posting late!!!)

Speeches

This week we presented our speeches in room one
I felt nervous I was shaking the hole time.

We had to include our pepeha, use a clear voice, stand still,
speak loudly,go at your own pace, look up at the crowd,
 use expression and be confident.

our speeches needed to include a rhetorical question,
and be persuasive. My speech was on Climate change.
You can see this on my previous post.
here's my pepeha...

Tihei Mauri ora (let there be life)
Ko pepeha ki ahau
Ko Titirangi Te maunga  (my mountain is)
Ko Waimata  Te awa (my river is)
Ko Horouta Te waka  (my waka (boat/plane) is)
Ko St Marys star of the sea Te marae (my meeting house is)

Climate Change

In room 1 we have been learning about Climate change
I enjoyed writing it.
I found it challenging to finish it on time.

Climate Change

We have all heard of it but what is climate change and what is it doing to our planet? Climate change is Move of sun, rain, wind, and snow.

One of the main  reasons is that the Amazon rainforest is Burning Down.It covers most of Brazil.

The Amazon rainforest is also known as earth's lungs because it holds 20% of oxygen for the Earth.

Another very important reason is that glaciers are melting sea levels are rising which floods lowland and  sea Temperature is getting warmer.

Sea life cannot survive in warm water.

Fossil fuels are also affecting climate change. Such as coal, fuel, petrol, and oil. When these fossil fuels and many more get

burnt they release carbon dioxide and other gases. When people use petrol cars all of those gases and fumes go into the ocean and sea life die.

In conclusion I believe that you should try to stop climate change because of all the fossil fuels being released the glaciers that are melting and the wildfires in the Amazon rainforest.

Caged Chickens Should be BANNED!!!

In room one we have been arguing about
if Chickens should be Caged or not
I found it easy to finish on time.
I found It hard to use the right words.
here's are success Criteria...
write a title that tells the reader
 about the issue being argued✅
use a rhetorical question
write an introduction that
 includes my three main points❌
organise my ideas into paragraphs ✅
make sure each paragraph has a
 main point and two examples✅
write a conclusion that includes
my three main points❌
edit for spelling and punctuation❌
present my work to a peer for assessment✅

 here's my work...
Would you want to be stuck in a cage with lots of other chickens?!I firmly believe that caged chickens should be banned!!!

One of the main reasons is that they can't move and get squished. Each chicken only has the space smaller than an A4 piece of paper.82% of hens that lay eggs in New Zealand are caged. Chicken Farmers can fit 45,000 chickens in one shed.

Another important reason that chickens should not be caged is they cant act like a chicken should act. They like to Scratch for food. And Like to have dust baths but when they're locked up in a cage they can't!!! They can’t stretch their legs. or flap their wings.

Also they get lots of diseases. One of those diseases are weak bones A.K.A  Osteoporosis. They get fatty liver disease. And they also get Ricketts which is a loss of vitamin D.

In conclusion I believe that Caged chicken should be banned. Because of the diseases they get how squished they are and they can't act like a chicken.
